KILIMANJARO ANIMAL RESCUE

Kilimanjaro Animal Rescue (KAR) was conceived as a natural response to the severe conditions that stray dogs of Tanzania are exposed to. Over the past 8 years, the team at Share Tanzania and KAR have rescued hundreds of stray dogs who were desperately in need. KAR currently have a dog rescue shelter that provides a home to approximately 100 stray dogs. Many of the dogs who come into care are often malnourished, severely injured, diseased and traumatized. Throughout a rehabilitative process, the dogs find healing and love for their new home, their fellow dogs and carers. The dogs receive love from all of their carers. They are walked daily and all their medical needs are taken care of by our on site veterinarian. The dogs also make daily visits to Featherstale Children’s village where they spend time with the children. Dogs are healing creatures and they bring a lot of joy to the lives of the children.
