The Doge Pound Shelter is located on 2 acres with panoramic views at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
It’s surrounded by farmland and beautiful mountainous scenery. The shelter is designed to accommodate hundreds of dogs and will be a sanctuary for the many dogs we will be rescuing.
We have broken down the construction process into 3 phases. We are currently halfway through phase 1 and upon completion of this phase, the shelter will be officially ready to accommodate dogs.
The 3 phases of the construction are as follows:
Phase 1:
Fencing (Exterior and Interior)
First 3 Kennel Blocks
Kitchen
Water mains
Sewerage Plumbing and Chamber
Toilets
Solar Power and Generators
Phase 2:
Office
Surgery
Remaining 4 kennel blocks
Phase 3:
Volunteer Accommodation
